What Happens During an Oral Cancer Screening?

An oral cancer screening is fast, painless, and completely non-invasive. During your comprehensive exam, Dr. Sabbahi carefully evaluates soft tissues both visually and manually:

• Visual Examination: Inspecting the roof of the mouth, back of the throat, inner cheeks, gums, and underneath the tongue for discolored patches or unusual lesions.
• Tactile Palpation: Feeling the neck, jawline, and floor of the mouth to check for enlarged lymph nodes or firm lumps beneath the surface.

Subtle Signs You Should Never Ignore
